Single Parenting It

Let me take a moment to give a huge, friggin' SHOUT OUT to the single moms and dads out there!  And those moms/dads who are essentially single parenting it while their partner deploys or works overseas.  I've been flying solo for 2 days and I'm TIRED.  Here's a recap of just today....

1:30AM get up with dog, who like a newborn, is waking once/night to go to the bathroom

6:15AM get up, get kids up for school

7:00AM run to store to get candy for teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week (today was candy day)

7:30AM take Jake to school

8:00AM take Delaney to school (Ava, my GOOD child, took the bus as usual.  Not my two pampered teens)

8:30AM set up, organize Dropbox folder, send emails to Tip Off Club Members, with meeting minutes from last night

9:00AM - 9:45AM Shower, get Josie up, get ready QUICK

10:00AM Josie's Orthopedist Appt.  First time at office complex...no parking.  Find parking REALLY far away...carry her into building, only to find out...WRONG BUILDING.  Carry her back out, buckle into carseat, drive to appropriate building.

11:15AM Leave appointment with Josie in boot.

11:45AM Pick up Delaney from school, so she can watch Josie for me so I can work.  Get text from Jake...he's not feeling well, wants to come home.  Go pick him up.

12:30PM Realize I missed an appointment for work - make frantic phone call to reschedule.  Return other phone calls for work.

1:00PM Leave for work.  Drive to Athens to interview a former spouse (65 miles one way).

2:45PM Finally track down former spouse at her job.  Interview her.  Leave to drive to Elberton for a Financial Record (another 50 miles or so).

4:15PM Leave Elberton to return home (70 miles).

5:45PM Get home, Delaney is waiting in driveway to go to cheer.  She hops in car, we drive to cheer.

6:15 - 7:00PM Wait while Delaney is at cheer practice.  Fill up tank and grab "dinner" (Chex Mix & water)

7:30PM Get home, type reports for work.  Work on Tip Off Club stuff. Jake does dishes for me and Delaney gives Josie her bath, thankfully.

8:45PM Realize we're out of milk - head to store for milk and supplies for tomorrow's dinner.  Go to grocery store.

9:45PM Realize, once home from store, I forgot to get flowers for the teachers tomorrow.  Say "screw it" and eat a bowl of cereal, while typing this post.

The End.
